Important Update: WhatsApp Pricing Changes Effective July 1, 2025
WhatsApp is moving to a per-message pricing model. Learn what’s changing, how it affects you, and how you can make the most of it.
We’d like to inform you about Meta’s upcoming changes to WhatsApp Business Platform pricing, effective July 1, 2025.
These updates are designed to offer businesses like yours greater flexibility and value as you scale your engagement on WhatsApp. The revised pricing model aligns more closely with industry standards across other messaging channels.
Here’s a quick summary of what’s changing:
1. Pay-per-Message Pricing (New)
Starting July 1, charges will apply per message sent, instead of per conversation.
Charges will depend on:
The category of message (Marketing, Utility, or Authentication)
The country code of the recipient’s number
💡 Note: If you send multiple message types, each will be charged separately.
Example:
10:00 AM – Marketing template → Charged 💰
11:00 AM – Utility template → Charged 💰
12:00 PM – Marketing template → Charged 💰

2. Free Responses Within the 24-Hour Customer Service Window (Improved!)
Good news! If a user messages you first, you can respond for free within a 24-hour window.
Free responses include:
Free-form messages (text, canned responses, bot replies)
Utility template messages
💡 The 24-hour timer resets every time the customer messages you.
Example:
Your customer sends a message at 10 AM
→ You can reply with normal text or a utility template at no cost ✅

3. Free Entry Point Messages (Remains the same)
When a user messages you from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad or Facebook Page button:
A 72-hour free window opens.
All template messages sent during this time are completely free, as long as you reply within the initial 24 hours with a text message as your first reply to open the 72-hour free window.
